BREAKNECKS.NET
ABOUT US
White Rock is one of the Lower Mainland's best locations for flatland skimboarding with eight kilometres of sandy beach and warm shallow waters. The progression of the sport in the area has been drastic from simple crusier runs to today's skateboard/snowboard influenced tricks such as Ollies and butters. The Breakneck Crew is proud to have been part of this revolution in White Rock from the beginning. Since 1997, Kyle Lynch has been doing his thing at East Beach experiencing the change from constructing driftwood rails to complex PVC rails, from wood bases with resin to all types of stronger more slick materials.

" Over the past ten years, It has been amazing watching how far the sport has come. I never imagined that the sport would become so popular. I remember when I first began skimming, I was one of the only a few skimboarders on the beach and now I have a full crew of guys just as stoked as I am. "

Q&A
Your Start ? I will always remember this down to the last detail. The year was 1996 and Roberto and I were at my cabin on Savary Island. My cousin Tristan Stark showed us the ways one perfect summer night in front of my place. From that day on, there was no turning back.

Transportation ? 1994 Plymouth Voyager, Alaskan Smoker-Craft.

Favorite Part of the day ? I’m that annoying morning guy, at which extreme of chirpiness is determined by how much sleep was acquired the night before.

After Skim Feast ? After a good pull: Prawns on the BBQ.

Best Skim Trip ? The countless boat trips around Savary Island in my boat, hitting all my favourite spots in record time. Also the skim marathon in Kelowna 2006, when the water level was perfect. With no tide, my man Ethan and I were able to come back for more and more every couple of hours.
Best Session ? Too many to count!

Your Style ? Smooth. If you make it look easy, it’s that much harder.

Why Do You Skim ? The people, the beaches, the sun, the girls, the partying: the lifestyle. And because I’m good at it.

Dream Skim Trip ? When Kayotics gets big enough to own a 200 foot yatch, and we tour around the world like they do in surfing, I’ll be able to die happy.

Life Philosophy ? Style is everything, people eat with their eyes and nothing is free.
