ABOUT US
|
White Rock is one of the Lower Mainland's best locations for flatland skimboarding with eight kilometres of sandy beach and warm shallow waters. The progression of the sport in the area has been drastic from simple crusier runs to today's skateboard/snowboard influenced tricks such as Ollies and butters. The Breakneck Crew is proud to have been part of this revolution in White Rock from the beginning. Since 1997, Kyle Lynch has been doing his thing at East Beach experiencing the change from constructing driftwood rails to complex PVC rails, from wood bases with resin to all types of stronger more slick materials.
" Over the past ten years, It has been amazing watching how far the sport has come. I never imagined that the sport would become so popular. I remember when I first began skimming, I was one of the only a few skimboarders on the beach and now I have a full crew of guys just as stoked as I am. "

Q&A
|
| Your Start ? I started skimboarding at Savary Island with my friend Will and his cousin showed us, I would say circa 1996. From then on haven't stopped and just love the sport.
Transportation ? Mom's Subaru or Dad's Audi, then either Will's skim van or public transit.
Favorite Part of the day ? I would have to say my favorite part of the day is definately when its low tide. When the tides out and your seshin' with your buds and its sunny nothings better mate!
After Skim Feast ? Either anything from the tennis club or the good ol' Pita Pit never gets old.
Best Skim Trip ? Would have to be the August Assualt Tour 2007 with Kayotics cause really thats the only trip. Rafttrevor beach made it worth while cause it was sunny and amazing ponds and learned new tricks, then we went to Hornby which is a great place when the tides out for a skim with white sand and clear waters. |
Best Session ? Would probs be the "Bank Statements" held by Kayotics cause it was the first time I ever did a elevated water box let alone a 5ft. drop and also a 5 set hand rail. Any sesssion though where you leave learning a new trick is always one to remember.
Your Style ? Id say im a wild and crazy character ... in my moms words "unique".
Why Do You Skim ? You know those commericals like "blah blah blah is my anti drug" well "skimboarding is my antidrug" hahah naah I skim because your with your buddies, its sunny day and girls are in bikinis ... oh ye and its fun.
Dream Skim Trip ? I would probably say Western Austalia. I lives there for two years and have kept in contact with some friends and haves asked about flatland game out their and I would love to just go and shred and just be in the warm and tropical weather of Australia.
Life Philosophy ? Lifes to short, treat everyday like it could be the last.
