BREAKNECKS.NET
ABOUT US
White Rock is one of the Lower Mainland's best locations for flatland skimboarding with eight kilometres of sandy beach and warm shallow waters. The progression of the sport in the area has been drastic from simple crusier runs to today's skateboard/snowboard influenced tricks such as Ollies and butters. The Breakneck Crew is proud to have been part of this revolution in White Rock from the beginning. Since 1997, Kyle Lynch has been doing his thing at East Beach experiencing the change from constructing driftwood rails to complex PVC rails, from wood bases with resin to all types of stronger more slick materials.

" Over the past ten years, It has been amazing watching how far the sport has come. I never imagined that the sport would become so popular. I remember when I first began skimming, I was one of the only a few skimboarders on the beach and now I have a full crew of guys just as stoked as I am. "

TEAM NEWS AND EVENTS
This is the place to check out everything to do with the crew including sessions, events, along with some sick media. Look out for the Breaknecks to be dropping some sick stuff on here over the 2008 season.
MARCH 31ST, 2008 "PIER EYE FOR SKIM GUYS"
Chris and Kyle hit West Beach for a sunset sesh along with Chris' roomate, who was trying flatland skimboarding for the first time. Since the session was spur of the moment we didn't bring any rails, but that didn't stop the spectators from watching the crew stomp some sick flatland tricks.

MARCH 30TH, 2008 "SOLO MISSION = GETTING YOUR FIX"
After two days of trying to get a couple of guys out for a rail session, Kyle gives up and heads to the beach for a solo sesh.

MARCH 26th, 2008 - FRANK JOINS THE BSC
Nick, Kyle and our newest team rider Frank Oelkers headed out to East Beach for a sick session. The crew is stoked to have Frank on the rooster, he is one of the most talented of White Rock's groms and has one of the best attitudes towards flatland skimboarding that we have ever seen. Anyway, our sesh was cut short when the sun left us, causing the temperature to drop but not before Nick and Kyle got some ghetto footage.

MARCH 24th, 2008 - SEARCH FOR THE PRIME SPOTS
A beautiful day in White Rock, just sun and a great tide so Kyle headed over to East Beach to scope the ponds for this season. A couple of the crews usual hangouts are either gone or no good but some new ones have popped up in there places.

MARCH 23RD, 2008 - WACKY WEATHER
Kyle sneeks in a sesh at westbeach during a day of extreme weather in White Rock, including blinging sun and heavy rain falls. "I had to laugh considering like ten minutes after I left the beach the sun came out."

MARCH 21ST, 2008 - COLD BBAY SESH
Chris, Nick and Kyle headed to Bbay with one of their ollie ons. Sorry no photos but we did take some footage. After the sesh the boys met up with Minns, to talk some skim, along with several other topics.
MARCH 20th, 2008 - TOO WINDY TO SKIM
Nick and Kyle were going to hit the beach but the wind was pretty harsh, so they went up to the skate park to hangout and met a new friend named Connor. Here are a couple shots that Kyle took during the sesh.

MARCH 15th, 2008 - THE NEW WESTBEACH
Kyle hits West Beach for a solo effort in the sun. "damn! West is so good this year, which makes me pretty stoked since its only a five minute walk from my house."

MARCH 13th, 2008 - WASTEISM TEASER
Dane Clark Productions is putting together a full length DVD loosely titled "Wasteism" and will be available to purchase from breaknecks.net when completed. Get an inside look on the life style of one Vancouver's Island best flatland Skimboarders.

MARCH 9th, 2008 - CALLING ON GREY SKIES
Kyle, Dane, and Chris head out to Boundary Bay for a sesh. No sun this day just a lot of gray but that didn't stop us from having a good time. Spent most of the time chilling with some flatland and Minns came out to cheer us on.

MARCH 8th, 2008 - SUNNY IS SHINNING AND THE LIVIN' IS EASY
Dane Clark came over for the weekend from Victoria and brought the blinging sun with him. The Crew seshed their hearts out at West Beach, which is unusually good right now. The crowd was loving the show which included some flatland, and an ollie box.

MARCH 4th, 2008 - GO GREEN
Nick and Kyle get their environmentally sensitive skim on by both skateboarding down to the beach. Even if it was because neither owns a car.

MARCH 3RD, 2008 - SKIM AT NIGHTFALL
Chris and Kyle catch the last bit of sunlight for a sick little flatland sesh down at West Beach, White Rock. No, Kyle didn't cut his hair he is still the hippie we all know and love, just happened to have cornrows in during the sesh.
