BREAKNECKS.NET
ABOUT US
White Rock is one of the Lower Mainland's best locations for flatland skimboarding with eight kilometres of sandy beach and warm shallow waters. The progression of the sport in the area has been drastic from simple crusier runs to today's skateboard/snowboard influenced tricks such as Ollies and butters. The Breakneck Crew is proud to have been part of this revolution in White Rock from the beginning. Since 1997, Kyle Lynch has been doing his thing at East Beach experiencing the change from constructing driftwood rails to complex PVC rails, from wood bases with resin to all types of stronger more slick materials.

" Over the past ten years, It has been amazing watching how far the sport has come. I never imagined that the sport would become so popular. I remember when I first began skimming, I was one of the only a few skimboarders on the beach and now I have a full crew of guys just as stoked as I am. "

Q&A
Your Start ? I was introduced to skimboarding at Hornby Island by some locals. They took me to Tribune Bay during a thunderstorm, that was a incredible day even though I probably bailed a hundred times.

Transportation ? No car for me, just my feet and my skate.

Favorite Part of the day ? I would have to say that I am a morning person. I wake up with the sunrise, some of my best skimboarding has come before 9 am. I love being at the beach in the early morning, it is erie and quiet.

After Skim Feast ? I really do not have a ritual, I usually just eat whatever I have in the house at the time.

Best Skim Trip ? Night Skimming at Tribune Bay, Cruiser runs at Comber's Beach, First bail at Mystic, Freshwater skimming at Dashpoint, street skimming at the ferry terminals, are just some of the moments from the many trips all over B.C. I have been lucky enough to attend.
Best Session ? I have had some great sessions with Chris down at East Beach, but my favorite would have to be this years Hollows Eve session.

Your Style ? I am a bit of hippie … I guess, or so I have been told. I spend a ton of my time at the beach, and I am always amped for the next session even if its in the snow.

Why Do You Skim ? Sometimes the simple questions are the hardest to answer, I would have to say because it is my release from the daily grind.

Dream Skim Trip ? Eventually, I want to take a road trip all the way down the coast until we are chilling in Mexico.

Life Philosophy ? I believe we can alter our reality through thought. I am working on walking on water, but until then I have skimboarding.
