ABOUT US
|
White Rock is one of the Lower Mainland's best locations for flatland skimboarding with eight kilometres of sandy beach and warm shallow waters. The progression of the sport in the area has been drastic from simple crusier runs to today's skateboard/snowboard influenced tricks such as Ollies and butters. The Breakneck Crew is proud to have been part of this revolution in White Rock from the beginning. Since 1997, Kyle Lynch has been doing his thing at East Beach experiencing the change from constructing driftwood rails to complex PVC rails, from wood bases with resin to all types of stronger more slick materials.
" Over the past ten years, It has been amazing watching how far the sport has come. I never imagined that the sport would become so popular. I remember when I first began skimming, I was one of the only a few skimboarders on the beach and now I have a full crew of guys just as stoked as I am. "

Chris has been doing his thing almost as long as Kyle. He is always down for a sesh and has the quickest feet imaginable making combos look so very easy, either on rails or on the water.

Q&A
|
1. Your Start ? I was introduced to the sport through one of my buddies. I was his grom for a season, and with a little guidance I was hooked on skimboarding.
2. Transportation ? After the purchase of a pick up I have taken over as the rail transport for the crew.
3. Favorite Part of the day ? I would have to say that I am a morning person. I wake up with the sunrise, some of my best skimboarding has come before 9 am. I love being at the beach in the early morning, it is erie and quiet.
4. After Skim Feast ? "I LOVE SANDWICHES".
5. Best Skim Trip ? Tofino, parksville, qualicum trip with the lynch crew. we fought the elements: rain, cold, and starvation (thank God for Chewy bars).
|
6. Best Session ? I had a five hour flatwater session down at West beach with my posse. I stomped everything and the conditions were sublimely epic.
7. Your Style ? I would consider my style of skimboarding a combination of speed and technical riding. I am pretty easy going character, with a real beach bum attitude.
8. Why Do You Skim ? It gets me stoked.
9. Dream Skim Trip ? Going somewhere in Mexico.
10. Life Philosophy ? "Be excellent to each other, and party on dude".
